It was cold but the rain stayed away at Royal Gosford. Some terrific golf was sprinkled with some not so terrific golf and though the hole-in-one car was safe we all had a great day. Our Under 8 gala day went off without a hitch and we had lots of very tired but very happy kids celebrating at the end of the day. Lots of great feedback followed and we thank our wonderful volunteers who made it all work!
Lots of happy smiling faces at Rams HQ today as we presented our Mini Roos with their end of season awards. Piccolos provided some excellent entertainment for us again and the weather behaved itself too. The icing on the cake was the wonderful results at the Central Coast Football U10s and U11s Tournament where our 10Bs and 11Cs won their finals! Well done everyone!
We also had a very special game this week, dedicated to the memory of great friend Kate McCartin. Our women’s premier league girls baked themselves to a standstill on Saturday whipping up dozens of beautiful mouth watering cupcakes and other delights. A gold coin donation was all that was asked for at the cake stall on Sunday and a massive $1,350.00 was raised to donate to Gosford Hospital Oncology Unit. The girls played Wyoming who scored early and had us on the back foot for much of the game. We were full of adrenalin though and were determined to make the inaugural Memorial Trophy ours. We had to dig really deep and that is just what we did to run out eventual winners 3 goals to 1. Thank you Wyoming for a great game and thanks to everyone who supported the cause and cheered on the players. Many thanks to Glen and Anthony from the Mariners who presented the trophy! We think they actually learned a thing or two from watching the girls play too!
MPL Our last game for the season saw us walk out onto the newly built Kincumber field and there were lots of goals to entratin the crowd. Third grade won a tough tussle  with the eventual score 5-4. Reserves didn’t fare so well with a 1-0 loss and 1st grade were up against a team of Roos fighting for their lives hoping to stave off relegation to division 1 in 2015. The Rams weren’t about to roll over for them and a draw was the final outcome. We finished 7th overall and spirit and enthusiasm is alive and well among the squad. Add to this the acceptance of our new coach and the support he enjoys across the club, we reckon we’re in great shape for next season! SWL The fixture against Wyoming was dedicated to the memory of our dear departed frien Kate McCartin with a memorial trophy up for grabs for the winning team. The girls had baked a zillion amazing cakes and treats the day before to raise some money for Gosford Hospital and by the time the game round on Sunday the girls were running on pure adrenalin. Good thing too because Wyoming took the game to us and what a great game it was. The Rams won out 3-1 and the trophy was duly awarded. We hope to make it a regular fixture on the calendar. Thanks very much Wyoming girls. Next and last Game Home Versus Wyong Reserves @ 12.45 and 1sts @ 2.45.
