"JUMPING JOSH JOLTS AVOCA OUT OF GAME"  RAMS 4 AVOCA 2

The boys were fired up today with the end to a great season, often frustrating this year with weather but they all had fun. There was a lot improvement all year from everyone. The training has been the key with coach and manager doing a great job, these 2 guys could run Man U if they wanted. We won't mention the kids vs Dad's scoreline at training...

Todays game was very one sided compared to our tough game against Umina so the boys let their hair down and had a shoot a thon somehow only getting 4 goals with the cross bar getting several dents from a lethal Liam many times, also Jacob and Cameron hit the timber. Our goalies  Nathan 1st half and Josh second half were superb diffusing any opportunity that came by .Avoca only had 2 shots on goal all game and scored 2 goals. The first half goal could not have been saved after some casual defence let them thru.
Smokin Sam again was on fire with big hard tackles,he apparently was tired said Mum but even at half pace he is the quickest out their. He punched thru several balls out wide to Leithal Liam who had his best game of the year dominating play and toying with the opposition having crack after crack and scoring maybe the goal of the season.

With Hayden, Cooper and Ollie on the bench they were itching to get out their and when they did the crowd were screaming. Hayden in defence to start and second half was put up front and got a nice left foot goal after a huge shot hit the cross bar from Cameron. Cooper must be most improved player this year and loving this team now he has the jumper leads off! With Coops and Hayden back on the bench it was up to others to bring it home. Ollie was superb all game rounding off a great season from him. Ollie was one of the best players all year and already can't wait for U10's next year.

Callum headed home a beauty in first half after a mariner like cross from Cameron. The celebrations were long and hard with Dad doing cartwheels. Great game Callum, we all felt guilty watching the game for free with that great skill.
Jacob was inspirational up the left side in 2nd half with run after run and shot after shot just going wide combining well with Nathan who took his chance and scored a great goal to make it 4-1. Ethan was unlucky not to score but had 3 players to deal with often beating all of them everytime and showing great team skills setting up Cameron and Josh many times.Josh finished out the season in goals looking very good in goals and nearly getting man of the match with another great game.

Well now our season is over thanks to all involved the 9A's did the club proud....

" SMOKIN SAM SIZZLES IN GOALS AT HOME " RAMS 0 UMINA 2

This game deserved to be shown live on FOX Sports. End to end action nothing splitting these two teams. Umina had to bring their A game today as the Rams were on fire. The wind picked up and made it tricky at times with ball swirling around. Cameron's great corners were causing havoc but Umina's full time goalie was up to the task and enjoyed a rare challenge from the Rams after a season of few close games for Umina.

Hayden played almost a full game up front trying his best but had to handle Umina's defence which at time's looked like Arsenal. Umina were very smart and anything that looked dangerous went straight to the sideline, at times they even were passing back to the goalie showing great skills. Cooper the new Messi not Messiah as Brent thought, again played well with his new mohawk making him stand out, Umina had no answer for his moves. Callum was having a great game again deserving the certificate, he then had an asthma attack and had to come off. Jacob loved this dual with Umina and with Cameron probably were best on field.

Smokin Sam had a ripper keeping a clean sheet in goals for first half. At times he was horizontal somehow keeping the ball out. One time it was in for all money only for Sam and defence to clear out after several shots, great team effort!! 2nd half saw Leaping Liam take the gloves and boy did he earn his money today, at least a draw seemed certain until 2 lucky goals just before full time sealed a hard fought win for Umina. Ollie deserved the ribbon today with another top game in defence, this season has been a great year for young Ollie and any team and coach would love an Ollie in their team. Brayden was destructive and safe like normal playing a great game. Ethan was on fire too continuing on his form from last week against SEU. Josh was safe again mesmerising Umina at times with his defence. Great coaching from Stuart again today.

Last game next week 28.08.10 9.50am at home against Avoca! GO RAMS!!!!!

RAMS 2 SEU 1

'COOPER THE NEW MESSI'

Cooper had his best game of his life today dominating the first half with best on field performance, then on the bench for second half and nearly scored 2 goals only for goalie to save. Seu were hot today and took early 1 nil lead through an unlucky break at the back. Liam in goals first half and Brayden in second half saved the day with awesome saves and kicking. Ethan played also his best game in front of old club.Sam the little A's champ came sprinting from fullback  and scored a great scrambling goal to make it 1 all 5 min into second half and deserved the certificate today. Really both teams deserved to win but the difference was a deflection to goal from seu fullback who was one of the best on field to make it 2-1. The poor fellow was devastated and all watching would love to have reversed the goal.

Seu coach was still proud of his troops and has trained them since U5's. We have played many great teams this year but SEU would have to be the best sports we have played. Josh played most of the game and was faultless in defence. Cameron had an injury and was taken off early. Jacob,Liam, Callum,Hayden, Nathan,Ollie and Brayden were all heroes today. My nicest moment today not noticed by all was by Cameron who had a crunching tackle with SUE player and Cam stood up to run away to score but saw his opponent still on the ground and went back to pick him up, this moment was what this team is all about.

Next week .Umina. This should be a close game. see you then.

'Jumping Jacob's Jubilation'

RAMS 3  Killarney Vale 1

Sweet revenge today for the RAMS,as a gallant Killarney could not stop the rampaging Rams
smashing their way to a great 3-1 victory. Again this game was played in great spirit showing why East Gosford and Killarney Vale are highly regarded as great clubs. Liam, Jacob and Cooper started on the bench and had to watch a fast start from Killarney taking a 1 nil lead with a scrappy goal and 12 minutes to go in first half. Josh had most touches in first half by anyone belting the ball clear several times on the right back and begging to coach to be centre back.Super Speedy Sam met his match with Killarney number 2 having a great tussell first half up front, his second half in defence was awesome, solid at all times.Sams partner in crime was Callum on the left side and both could not contain this one player. Second half saw Callum go to the sideline and pass some amazing balls up to the middle for an attack which lead to Liams goal.Coops came on and had immediate impact controlling the troops then going up front second half and missing two great chances that had the crowd gasping. The game was all but won when Hayden subbed Cooper. Hayden was strong up front in first half passing well until a determined run through the defence caused and error and Ethan picked up the scrapps and scored an impressive equaliser. Ethan was complaining of fatigue and let Stuart know pacing himself but having his best game of the season. 1 all half time was a good result with end to end action and Cameron having a great half in goals, one of his goal kicks landed a metre over half way on the full into a strong wind. Second half saw Ollie take the gloves and nothing got past, words can't describe his match turning save,as the Killarney forward crossed a sure goal from right to left going into top corner and some how Ollie grew 6ft and tipped ball past post. That was the WOW moment then Jacob out did that with his own WOW moment with the best run and goal of the season,he started 10 meteres from halfway beat the forwards and mid fielders then passsed to Nathan in centre who passed straight back to Jacob ,beat one, beat two defenders took it wide then cut in and curled a left foot beauty from outside side of box over the top of a tall out stretched goalie flying through the air with finger tips stretched only for ball to go in the top of corner of goal post,2-1 Rams in front. During this time the Killarney best player number 2 fullback had to watch from sideline then Liam had his own magic on the right cracking a ripper to make it 3-1 six minutes before full time. By the time number 2 came back on it was all over. During this shoot a thon Cameron has had few 20 metre shots only to be saved a very good goalie.Again one of the best on field was Brayden the Gun,after his knee injury from gala day then a week of sickness this was very impressive,he can take credit for at 3 goals not going in with his great defence.Nathans fitness showed as the longer the game went on the better he got helping set up 2 of the goals. This was great fun game you guys and your team mateship and sportsmanship is awesome!
Only 3 more games weatther permitting, see all at training.

' UNDEFEATED RAMS AND NO GOALS LET IN ALL DAY DO US PROUD'

Wow what a day, an early start 8am kick off and a final game 5pm.

Super Cameron ruled the day still having energy after playing every minute of every game, some of his goals were spectacular but his defence will be remembered by all. We played all day without conceding a goal and not losing a game.

The semi final against Scotts college was one sided to Rams but were unlucky to lose 2-1 on corners after golden goal extra time. Umina again avoided playing us finally winning against Scotts College in final. Revenge against Kincumber after Saturday's loss was sweet with a great  one  nil win in both games, Nathan scored perhaps goal of the season and was man of the match in these and out of all first round games we had the only goal. Berkeley Vale game was some what easy compared but a goal could not seperate the teams so nil all was disappointing in both games. Revenge also against Avoca was sweet from previous loss weeks ago to have 2 nil victorys in both games against them, with Hayden, Cameron,Nathan and Liam scoring crackers.

Liam got his moneys worth with a thousand touches keeping Mum and Dad very proud. Jacob was mesmerising all day raising eyebrows from many teams commenting on his great skills. Sam enjoyed playing against many skilled players getting better as the games went on. The RAMS gained so much respect during the day with Mangrove ,Terrigal and Avoca teams telling me about our teams performances and how good we were going.Callum tried hard all day after boogying on the dance floor all night previously, his and others hair styles were very scary. Ethan starred in goals for a few games making many crucial saves.

Hayden and Josh were still fresh at the end and wanted another game in the rain. Josh was solid in defence all day showing off to his brother Luke. Cooper  nearly won the day with a 30 metre shot at top of cross bar which Scotts specialty goalie grabbed. Brayden was a menace all day with his speed and skills only to save a certain goal in final minute and got smashed by a deliberate hit and had to be carried off, no sympathy shown and no hand shakes were given from Scotts, a shame after our guys played by the rules and did not care that they lost on corners after not losing all day. Like Stuart said after team huddle around an injured Brayden who was carried off in ice, this was the best we had played together win or lose, and the sportsmanship was the highlight with no fights, penalties or whinges. Top effort by all and parents should have got a ribbon too.

Hayden said to me at the end I don't care we lost on corners, at least we had a fun gala day!!!enough said..

    ' Cameron's Wind Dust Storm'  Rams 2  Kincumber 4

A home ground advantage was not evident today, with Kincumber playing very very well scoring some really well setup goals with both our goalies Cooper and Callum doing well. None of the goals could have been saved and had to get through rest of team first to get to goal.1 all at half time and an even contest. Captain Sam was stoked to be in charge and up front today showing again his speed, everytime he lost the ball he made sure he got it back with great determination and speed.A man of the match performance from Cameron who was like a magnet to the ball scoring 2 long distant shots and unlucky not to get a couple at the end to get a draw. After getting a well deserved break Brayden and Cameron went off only for Kincumber to score 3 goals in that time.Josh had a great game in defence solid at all times taking several quick throw ins setting up the right side. Liam and Ollie kept Kincumber out most of game punching several balls through to Jacob and Hayden up front but Kincumber backs were faultless today. Nathan and Ethan played a real team role passing several times and helping in desperate defence when the roos were on fire, after both scoring match winners in recent weeks their confidence showed.Several perfect corners were sent in over and over but could not get a goal. Ollie diffused many attacks in first and second half going safely to the sideline and showing no fear in several crunching tackles. Leaping Liam had to take on 3 players alone several times winning most and keeping Dad calm.Callum had great runs up the right side in first half crossing well. Cooper Weekes had best game in weeks and had no weak part in his game today,he came out of goal and on the field for second half to a relieved Mum.The tactic to take it easy on the Roos before tomorrows gala day which we play first should prove a good one. A good game by all, we were just beaten by the better team..

'GAME OF THE GOALIES' RAMS 2 BERKELY VALE 1

With a full team today except for SAM a good game was assured having two reserves this week. Berkeley Vale were always going to be tough and they didn't dissapoint with a quick goal to take early lead from a corner kick with BRAYDEN in goals unlucky to let it in. BRAYDEN  had a blinder saving several certain goals that kept Berkeley Vale to only one goal at half time with scores being level. OLLIE was his usual best being probably best on field not letting anything past in defence.Second half saw JACOB in goals also having a blinder to save the game and not let any in. NATHAN was super strong up front and unlucky not to score more but was rewarded with the match winner to win game 2-1.JOSH was welcomed back after a big holiday and was super keen making a big impact with blitzing runs up the middle.HAYDEN played well up front in the first half missing  a few chances then going back to fullback in second half with his buddy COOPER who was solid in defence and put his body on the line copping it in the face to save a goal and doing it for Mum who was celebrating her birthday.CAMERON and ETHAN were destructive in the middle setting up several chances between them.LIAM and CALLUM had 10 great chances between them but could not quite get a goal. Berkeley Vales 2 goalies were equally impressive making this one of the best games of the season. Kids are all playing so well together as good mates and it shows.

Great game all and top coaching Stuart.

See you next week and Sunday Gala day at Gosford weather permitting.

East Gosford 0 vs Terrigal 0

First nil all draw for season. End to end action amazing stuff for only 8 and 9 year olds. Ollie ripped in goals first half keeping a clean sheet. Hayden had a great chance with a toe bunger but just missed and then went in goals second half keeping a clean sheet too. Playing with no subs was always going to be tough with Cooper, Josh and Brayden away but the dudes all stepped up. Cameron was again amazing playing like a demon and once shooting to goal from near half way only for Terrigal best player in goals taking the ball at the cross bar. 2nd half saw very few shots as both teams would not give an inch.

Callum brought his A game today having best game this year. Ethan and Nathan were solid all day causing havoc. Ethan carrying over great form from last week when he scored the only only goal to beat Kanwal. Without smokin Sam the result could have been ugly, his improvement has been amazing and his speed was awesome. Jacob and Liam were teriffic like normal and really stepped up with only nine players. Terrigal played well and were pumped for revenge after 1st round 5-2 loss but a draw was a fair result. Great games guys, week off.
